Todays orphan "foundling" Knight KG-50

Postby EWBrown » Wed Jul 27, 2016 3:53 pm

This followed me home today, Found it for $10 at the local junk shop / indoor flea market. Knight KG-50 AM / FM stereo tuner, lots of tubes inside!
Some rust and dust, a few dried out bug carcasses and a light "organic" aroma from long term "poor" storage.. Otherwise in fairly decent and restorable condition.
No mouse pee evident! (y) (lol)

Nice ! It must be mid-sixties ? It has a 6C9 Compactron, unusual in a tuner.

tip: don't clean the back of the dial glass with Windex !

Oh, the engineers are dead. You've got to train new ones to turn the dials and heat the tubes up then .... *)

I bought a Technics tuner maybe ten years ago at a thrift store. Think I paid some five bucks. But I seldom listen to the radio ... :/
