I got the power PCBs but was missing some caps. I ended ordering as I needed them.
I emailed the to request a refund. He refund the money but also said they had mailed me the caps and would send a return label.
Ofcourse I would not have ordered if I was told it was missing parts and that it would be sent out ASAP. That said, they did not defraud me, and do keep their word. The Communication is still very much lacking.
In short it all worked out.

i've dealt with them in person a few times. it's where I got my DIYTube st-35 kit. not the most professional/efficient vendors in the world but: there was a Chicago location, and then an expansion into the suburbs- at the Chicago location, the young guys who worked there were passionate about tube audio, were very helpful, and they were the ones who first directed me to this invaluable website. the place was dark and literally stuffed to the ceiling with....tube stuff. I picked some stuff up at the St.Charles(suburban) location, and I thought they were a bit rude/unhelpful/detached. I believe perhaps the "uncle ned" character may have been there at that time, grunting incoherently once in awhile.
I haven't been active in a few years so I don't know what changes have come about. i'd say just try to be patient, and keep your experience in mind next time you order and don't expect things any time soon.

skip that last bit; I guess "uncle ned" has been gone for 11 years+....I guess maybe the grunting guy was some ageing guitar hero who was too cool to talk to mortals

It seems that Triode Electronics has been “out-of-stock” on the PA774 power transformer for some time. I needed two, one for an original repair, and one for a friend. Since one was for an original chassis, that eliminated the possibility of using a physically larger Edcor, so I decided to contact DynaKit. Triode advertises that their transformers are wound with larger wire than the original, and run cooler. I’ve confirmed this with comparative primary and secondary resistance measurements and output voltage checks.

I asked Kevin at DynaKit about this, and he took some resistance measurements. “close enough” I said, and ordered two. When I received two very good looking PA774’s, I checked them both and found that they both matched (very slightly better-actually)) the winding resistances of the Triode offerings, and the secondary (HV) output voltage is a little closer to the original Dynaco’s.

I’m Happy!

Unlike Triode, Dynakit advises the stock status of each item on its particular web-order page!

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I thought I'd put in my two cents:

I've been working with Triode for decades, starting shortly after the fire when they weren't selling the three tube ST-70 input boards. I re-laid it out and made a couple for myself. I ended up selling Ned several hundred of them over the years, I also supplied several hundred ST-70, PAS, and Fisher 500C cap-boards to them over the years. They got pretty flaky after the new owners took over from Ned. I hadn't heard from them in a couple of years and I saw that they had replaced my ST-70 cap board with another design. So I figured we were done.

I got a call in January asking for 50 PAS boards, which I had fabricated for them and shipped. I didn't ask for payment upfront given our long history. It's been seven months and I haven't seen a dime. several dozen ignored emails, and unanswered calls later (please press 1 for customer service followed by 30 seconds of "Take five" and then I leave a message) I still have not been paid.

They used to be great back when Ned was around, now I'd say avoid like the plague.

I wondered whatever happened to SDS Labs. 'Saw your new website; 'glad you are still apparently having fun with audio and other pursuits. I like the cat-proofing on your ST-70

I ordered some parts from them last year and discovered that the shipping costs were double what they should be. I had to show them the correct amount. I got the feeling that they were hoping I would miss it, but they paid up. Also, there were some parts missing from the order. They shipped them out on their dime. That's the first and only time I will order from them.

I received the order I placed recently. Took about two weeks to get the items which isn't too bad. Everything seems to be there.
