Yea, but that's a plastic knob.
At first I wanted to be a ET. Now I are one.

Fluting is a different process all together, too.

That is beyond a turning project. However, there are a lot of wood knobs that could be recreated.
I know that there were/are businesses based on that. I just think it would be interesting to try to mimic some of the classics.
I could always make a knob that would fit and was similar in shape, made of burl or something cool.
But I assume that the point is a perfect restoration.
fluting is outside what I can do in my workshop.

cigar pen

Postby coop402 » Thu Dec 24, 2015 12:17 pm

I thought you guys might get tired of looking at my audio knobs.
Here is a cigar pen I turned today out of walnut. I modified the pen kit to be able to round the end of the pen like a real cigar. I then super glued a DIME BANK cigar label to the wood. I finished it with 20 coats of super glue, then sanded and polished it. Yes the glue is right over the top of the band. Completely sealed.

More wood turning

Postby coop402 » Mon Jan 04, 2016 8:30 pm

Here is another pen I made by making my own checker blanks with walnut and maple.
This is a really nice quality kit.

I am also looking for custom work for knobs. If you have an idea with your logo for a high end knob, I can probably do the first one for $50,
once I have your logo templates, I can make others for $35. have a look at audioknobs.com

Let me know if you have any questions or project ideas.

So, $35 + one time $15 setup charge. THAT is reasonable to beat all (y)

I am really trying to keep prices fair.
I have made my best effort to make these knobs more efficiently.

The other thing is:
I can make smaller knobs, but they do not always lend themselves to graphics.
However, I could match wood for a complete set of knobs for a give project. We could work out a price.
I just need dimensions and the like. You can always IM me, or send an email to audioknobs@gmail.com.
audioknobs.com has some knobs available. Some are prototypes. If they had any flaws from testing I priced them CHEAP. lol
