If I wanted to build a parallel push-pull output stage using four 6BQ5/EL84 tubes producing about 30-35 watts what impedance output transformer primary should I look for?

A little over 4K should be good. Something like this -

NEW A470-S, a reproduction of the Dynaco A470 output transformer as used on the Dynaco (tm) ST70 and MkIV amplifiers.

I don't see a direct URL to that transformer, Andrew (???)

But here's a darn good one as well:

This will give you lower THD:

This one may give you more options down the road and less $ too.
