ECLL800 PP amp

If you can find one of these rare thermionic treasures (ECLL800, AKA 6KH8), it is the basis for a simple three-tube, 8WPC PP amplifier
(if you eschew the tone controls).
I have one single Telefunken ECLL800, which I've been saving, as a replacement for a vintage German radio. Best thing is,
it was deeply "hidden" in a Xerox copy paper box full of loose "plinkers", but there were a couple of layers of very nice NIB / NOS tubes
hidden in the depths of the box, which I found at a Sunday flea market in Hollis, NH, about 7 years ago. For the princely sum of $15.

ECL800L are obtainable from Radiomuseet in Gothenburg, Sweden at 450SEK (USD63): http://radiomuseet.web.pin.se/wordpress/?page_id=1589.
Also TangoTubes has ECLL800, but you have to write and ask about price: http://www.tangotubes.com/

I just found some Lorenz ECLL800s on the e-place for an almost "reasonable" price. ($44 each)

Two of these and an ECC83, and voila! Stereo 8WPC PP amp using only 3 tubes!
