This actually works very well! My old sponge disintegrated and I figured I'd give this a shot. I see via Google that at least one company is trying to promote this as a dry tip cleaning solution, but I find that it works best wet and it doesn't dry out as fast as a typical sponge either. I bought about eight bars of melamine foam from eBay for $1.50 shipped which is much cheaper than Magic Erasers and without added chemicals.
