PP output transformer primary winding

Postby wf1318 » Sat Apr 06, 2013 10:57 am

Hello!

I search on the web and found that there are two kind of PP output transformer on their primary winding,
one type is come with 3 input on its primary winding and one type is come with 5 input on its primary winding.

Let's says there is a 8K PP OPT come with 3 input on its primary winding, is that it is a 4K-0-4K Structure?
Or if it is a 8K PP OPT come with 5 input on its primary winding, is that it is a 4K-2K-0-2k-4K Structure?

Thanks!

The OPT with three leads for the primary is Plate1 - CT - Plate2,

If it has 5 leads, it can be either one of two variations:

Ultralinear: Plate1 - Screen1 -CT - Screen2 - Plate2

Dual Impedance: for example, 8K or 6.6K:

Plate1 (8K) - Plate1 (6.6K) - CT - Plate2 (6.6K) - Plate2 (8K)

Some manufacturers like to reverse phase on the primary colour coding... a function generator and dual trace scope is your friend to verify ;)

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.
