Talking with a friend about building a relatively simple tubed preamp for a ribbon mic.
He just got the materials for this guy:

and is looking to use a 3d printer to make a nice housing for it. In the meantime he's asked me to brainstorm a preamp that it plugs into.

I want an input resistance of at least 1500 ohms, but does that mean I need another transformer on top of the one in the microphone housing itself? Just a bit confused on the theory of these things.
