Need to get rid of leftover parts...

So, I am thinking to recycle some parts that I have laying around on a SS amp. I have bunch of low voltage, large capacitance can caps that might be good for a SS amp project. I got a toroid PT that probably puts out 50VAC. I was thinking about a non-inverting gainclone amp based using LM3875 or LM3886. Any thoughts on that? A complete waste of time or might be worth it? I have never built any SS amp before. It might be fun!
