I got to met Jeri Ryan in chicago in 1998 , i had to make sure no one bothered her luggage or her mom , at a Sci fi convention . I'm sure her undies would have sold for a mint on Ebay at that time
I was #2 in security and got all the fun jobs , like telling Muhammad Ali's bodyguards that they couldn't park their limo in the space i was standing so we could have Jon pertwee's ( DR who ) limo could park there (sick) :'(

Sometimes you get what you ask for ...

We asked for a stout and a red ale ....

.... and got a stout and a red ale.

A short comment on the photo. We made the More Beer tour in Amsterdam this Summer. Four beerplaces were to be visited in one day and at least one glass of beer had to be drinken (drunken, drunk, drankt??) at each place. We got a T-shirt as a gift for this enormous work. (banana)
Most of the beer, ranging from 18 to 42 taps were local, most had crazy names (Molotov, Even More Jesus, Elvis was here ...) and they were VERY tasty. One beer that we couldn't get at any of the palces was .... HEINEKEN (Propably the worst beer in the world (sick) ).

Anyway, I notice that most of you have had a pretty not so busy period this year. I have been struggling with, I don't know really what, but right right noww wwith Mrs K in Chicago until at least end of March next year I have started to assemble a 50W silicon amp for which I have collected components and recently got the PCBs from eBay. There''s a DIY synthesizer also being assembled and I will, while waiting for stuff to come in, have a go at a 5W single-transistor amp that will get a tube-driver. Hoping to be able to stay away from my computer and finish all the projects lying around. :$

Btw, a more recent project involving DHT is a digital clock based on a Russian clock-IC and a 4-digit Vacuum Flourescent Tube. Saw an application where such an numeric tube was used as an amplifier. Been looking at the Korg Nutube, but I am not convinced. Looks cool, but not convinced. :/

You haven't tried Foster's yet, have you? (sick)

Did you see our thread on diyAudioProjects? It's a gimmick, nothing more :/
(numeric or alpha-numeric VFD would be cooler)

Cheers!

I did notice the Nutube-thread on DIYAP-forum, but didn't pay that much attention. When search the web, it appeared that the thingie as aimed towards guitar stuff.
It looks really cool, but nothing you can't do with blue LEDs.

Guess I tried Fosters, but cannot say it did any sustainable impression. I have made some serious preparations for X-mas Eve (the BIG day of X-mas over here), preparing som of MY favourite stuff that will be on the table tomorrow. No lutfisk, but the Jansson's temptaion, meatballs and the smoked eel. Did find herring marinated with sea buckthorn - interesting.
I got four bottles of beer - no fooling around here. One a milk stout (St Peters) and the other three from a microbrewery near my old place in SE Sweden - Emmaboda Brewery.
There're Emmaboda Pale Ale, The Hop Village and Bapelsin (Borange (*)). Will be so interesting. :P

(*) Bapelsin/Borange comes from an anecdote:

Teacher: Carl, can you name three fruits beginning with letter B
Carl: Blueberries .... Blackberries .... and .....
Teacher: Yes Carl, the third one???
Carl: For f***'s sake, Borange ...

Swiss company Spotify was introduced at NASDAC and of course, as usual, a Swedish flag was presented outside the NASDAC building. Can't the Americans keep track of a few European countries??!! :/

Last weekend, I and a fellow audiophole went down to the Danish alps to take part in a Vintage&Vinyl meeting. (It was a hard drive, as the temperature has reached 90F and my little car has no A/C (sick) ).
