Ooch - I did my electronics training in a major hospital Biomedical Engineering DEpt.
The defibrillator is a bloody big cap which is discharged Via a vaccuum relay, thru a pulse shaping inductor into the patient.
I was working on on day with the cap at full charge - I remember the test probe slip but not much after that until I found myself in the corner where the walls met the floor about 8 foot from my work bench.
