Min,
MY local OSH has angle stuff in the hardware section. Along with rod and flat stock. Here is their store locator

Thanks, Vince. There is a OSH store in Woodland that I go to all the time. I will look for them now that I know what they are called. So I should ask for angle stock, right?

I don't know what the finish is on those trannies, but they sure look nice. It a shame that I will be powdercoating the bells as well.

There is also a link to the WE91A article on Sound Practices magazine. The author (Joe Roberts) is obviously biased in favor of SE amps, but it's a good read nonetheless.

Thanks for the link. I would love to hear your impressions between this and the Je Labs 300b you just built when time comes which probably won't be long as fast as you have been putting out amps :) .

This took some work. I don't think I have drilled or punched this many holes on a chassis before. I think I did alright, cosidering metalwork is not my forte. Here are some pictures:

Thanks for those that gave me information on where to get angle stock. OSH had loads of them.

Looks pretty solid. Time for ventilation holes for the tubes? :D

Looks good! Those steel chassis are a LOT harder to punch and drill than are the aluminum chassis, but with all that iron on board, steel is definitely the way to go.

Some of my "dumpster" prototype chassis are made of a softer, but thicker, type of aluminum, and they are ridiculously easy to do the metalwork, but are still strong enough for all but the heftiest amp designs.

I couldn't find any place around here that would powdercoat my stuff for less than $150. Also, they would take upto 2 weeks, because they like to process orders in batches. So, I decided to just spray paint the whole thing using automotive paint and clearcoat.
It was a lot of work. I put on at least 5 coats of cherry red paint + buffing with rubbing compound in between coats. I then put on about 8 layers of clearcoats with buffing in between coats. I then cured the paintjob at 145 F overnight. IMHO, the work was worth it. The finish came out real nice. Here are some pictures:
