6L6 amplifier

Has anyone ever built this circuit?

http://www.bonavolta.ch/hobby/en/audio/6l6_2.htm

I'm thinking about this one, but changing the octals to 12AX and 12AUs. Thoughts?

I had those free trannys from a friend, and then aquired a pair of free aluminum chassis from a friend, so this will be sort of a trash can punch amp/s. I already have the line filtered IECs, and the binding posts and RCAs installed. I'm just waiting on a few tube sockets, and to order my OPTs. They all call for 6.6K, so it is a matter of which one to build.

Any thoughts or recommendations? My other option recommended by Eric Hayes was to use the Ike front ends.

Hi,

If you want to swap the octals for mini's and don't even have to change component values, use a 5751 for the 6SL7 and a 6CG7/6FQ7 for the 6SN7.

Those tubes are far better in linearity than a 12AX7/12AU7... I don't see why you'd want to downgrade the amp?

Cheers!

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.
