Preamp?

Postby Blair » Fri Jan 04, 2008 6:17 pm

Hey guys,

I just bought a Parasound PHP-850, and it has two outputs. One says normal, and another says direct. The normal one says it is safe with any amplifier, but the direct says it is only safe with amps that have direct coupling caps on the input <---I think I'm stating this correctly. Anyway, I was wondering if this output would be safe for my poseidon amplifier. I'm not too sure about the direct coupling statement.

Thanks for any info,

Blair

Hi Blair -

The Poseidon board inputs are direct coupled - no capacitors,
just resistors, as are most tube amps. So use the "normal"
outputs of the preamp.
