Williamson type 6V6 PP amp

Postby SDS-PAGE » Fri Nov 30, 2007 12:35 am

I am building one right now and had following questions:

1) What would be the ideal primary impedance for 6V6s? I will be using Hammond 125Es, so I have options. Maybe around 10k?

2) I got a bunch of solen fast caps rated at 22uF 630VDC. These aren't electrolytic. Could I use these as filter caps? I used them for the PS before, it worked ok for me.

3) Where could I source black hex screws? I am beginning to get sick of those zinc phillips screws. They don't go too well with black chassis.

Thanks! -Min

10K or 8K

6V6s typically like to run into 10K P-P for 10W out.

IIRC, in fixed bias and 8K P-P they can go up to around 14W out.

The 125Es will let you try anything from 1200 ohms to 27K P-P Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_11

You can always spray paint any kind of screw that you buy.

Mike's N-1 Rule: When looking for N number of components to finish a job, you have a 95% chance of only finding N-1 of them.
