Stepped Attenuators from Hong Kong

Postby EWBrown » Wed Nov 07, 2007 7:26 am

I just got one of these, it arrived today! Mine has the standard 1/4 inch dia shaft and not the "knurled" one
as showin in the photo (of a different 250K unit).

I doubt that I could have built one myself for the total cost (39.95 including the shipping).

He has these in 250K and other values as well.

Nice quality and craftsmanship ...

After you install it - how about a report on these points ...

Precise pin pointing focus ?

Equal resistance (L/R) all the way ?

Deepter depth and sweeter vocal ?

Cleaner bass and sweeter treble ?

Sound image is much improve. Pin point image!!! ??

Some of his audiomystical terminology is rather arcane... (refer to the snake oil topic).

I have used these and similar "ladder" attenuators in other projects, with very good results. The Goldpoint equivalents would coat a LOT more...

I have found no "popping" during use, and there are enough "steps" so that there are no big jumps in volume levels.

As far as the rest of the claims, refer to the applications of Balonium-362, and lots of "poetic license" (that was a term that a high school teacher used in place of references to bovine excrement)... Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_06
