4 ohm or 8 ohm taps ?

Postby IGGY » Wed Nov 08, 2017 6:32 pm

Hello All (banana)

My EICLONE can be configured for 4,8 and 16 ohm load. My speakers are rated 6 ohm.
Which taps should I be using and why ?

Thanks,
Iggy

Hi,

Difference from a tube load standpoint is the 8 ohm tap = more power while the 4 ohm tap will be lower THD.

The difference isn't so great that you risk instability either way.

I'd try both and use whuch sounds best to your ears.

Cheers!

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.
