6P3S-E bias

Postby jetpack » Sun Jun 12, 2016 2:35 am

For kicks, I threw in a quad of 6P3S-E into a stereo Eiclone. B+ is 362V and they are biased at 75mA for ~27W. Does this seem about right? They sound pretty good, in my estimation better than the Sino EL34 that they replaced. Internet wisdom is all over the place for biasing this valve.

Some of our amps for the store come with these. We pull them and drop in EH EL34. The Russians you mentioned are good too.

Cheers!

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.

The E-type look cooler that the common 6p3s type.
