Does anyone have any thoughts about whether the Eiclone boards could be made to work with GU-50, with perhaps an insertion of a 12V DC heater supply? More importantly, any thoughts about whether it would sound nice? Thanks.

Hi,

I had a dear friend who was a GU-50 expert and he said that they sound like and can be treated like a 6L6GC, as long as you mind that screen voltage.

Cheers!

Mr Wavebourne at diyaudio.com recommended pretty high B+, above 600V. Else I guess they can be treated as common power pentodes like 6L6 or EL34.
