Hi diytube people.

I'm building up a pair of Eiclones in a 240V mains country. Edcor transformer options are XPWR002 with 360-0-360 @220mA, 0-6.3 @ 7A, XPWR059 with 375-0-375 @ 175mA, 3.15-0-3.15 @ 6A, XPWR134 with 375-0-375 @ 200mA, 0-6.3 @ 3A, 0-6.3 @ 3A, or XPWR149 with 400-0-400 @ 250mA, and 0-6.3 @ 5A.

Any suggestions about which would be best?

Thanks!

Thanks for the toroidal suggestion. I've never used a toroid in a tube amp. I know some people don't like them. Have you tried them out in Eiclones?
I'm still looking for suggestions on the Edcors. Not sure whether the 175mA high-voltage current rating is enough. Also uncertain about using the secondaries in parallel to up the heater current.
Cheers.

It's a bit late and doesn't answer your question about the Edcors, but I'm using Hammond 374BX here in the UK as they have universal primaries. I couldn't source Edcor at a sensible price.

I'd agree with that, go with Hammond. Edcors hum quite audibly at 240v.
