I have a pair of eiclone board and want to use a 6SF5GT as the first tube , would it just be best to make an adapter socket to plug into the 6sl7 socket or cut a couple foils to adapt the on board socket , they are a lot less money than the than the 6sl7's .

I've had 6SF5's in my MK-3's for several years now and sound great. My MK-3's are basically P-to-P Eiclones in a MK-3 chassis.

The filament is the same pins but all others are different so you will have to carefully cut & jumper the connections.
