Just make sure that the 6.3 V filament supply has sufficient current capability, before using the KT150s.

And make sure your bias is cranked all the way. You may run out of bias supply - I think you can hit -90V or so.

Thanks Shannon ;) If filament draw at max. Total current for two KT150 + one 6SL7 + one 6SN7 is about 4.9 amps. The Edcor filament is 5 amps :/

Yes, they have not shipped yet. How long did it take to get yours? Still waiting on some backordered parts from mouser as well.
I found a local source for chassis metal as well.

EDCOR closes down for a week or two around the Christmas - New Years holiday / vacation time, that would delay the shipping.

I think I will use the KT-150's,
I had Edcor make some appropriate transformers for me, 120 vac primary and 900 vac center tapped (450-0-450) @ 300ma, 6.3 vac @ 6amps. This should be a little more than sufficient to run these tubes. The tubes will not be directly connected to the pc boards for obvious reasons.

hilldweller,

Do you have a part number for that transformer? I think I would like to try a build with the 150's.

Thanks,

Marshall

Thank you!

Apparently they do not have that on their site yet. I will inquire about it.

Marshall

PS. How are those transformers and tubes working out?
