6SL7 front end

I spent the evening yesterday populating one of my eiclone boards. When I finished I was left with some burning issues. I am going to use the 6SL7 front end and scoured the manual here and at home and could not find the jumper configuration for this. I was forced to think. OW, OW, OW, don't make me think! Phew that's over. Anyways, I got it. The other thing is the mu of the 6SL7 is less than 12AX7. Does this mean I need to change some component values? Feedback resistor? Plate resistor? What about the quiescent point of the 6SL7, should I change the cathode resistor?

Hello? Hello? Is this thing on?

I'm using one of the Mapletree "special red" driver board in my ST70.
It uses an sl and sj.

Here's a link to their manual that has a schematic

Hi All,

People have been subbing 5751s for 12AX7s for years without any circuit modifications or ill effects. Since a 6SL7 is, for all intents and purposes, an octal 5751, just go for it.

I think I Tube CAD'ed that circuit (along with the 5751 sub) and the gain & bandwidth ends up being very similar, so that the circuit needs no re-tuning.

I have used a 6SU7GTY in place of a 6SL7 and was amazed!! If you can find one I highly recommend it.
