Eiclone stereo refresh

Postby jetpack » Thu Jun 03, 2021 3:28 am

Hi all.

I built a stereo Ike way back when. Used underrated power supply chokes that always ran hot and eventually leaked, what might be toxic ooze. Anyway, I bought some sweet Tango OPT that are on the way to replace the James that I have now and some bigger chokes. I'll replant the Ikes soon and will photo document it here.

Glad the forum is back! Hope everyone is doing well.

Not much quick progress, but here is a layout photo. The final product will have Tangos instead of the Silk OPT.

Hmmmm, if anyone is reading this, do you have any thoughts about putting the chokes in between the boards?

Casework almost done. I repurposed a hammond box and added the wooden panel to cover the old holes. Cuts made with a holesaw, a jigsaw, and a stepped drill bit. I tidied a little with a Dremel tool.

dryfit heavy stuff. OPT are Silk, PT and chokes are James that I got from James "office" in Taipei way back in the day.
