No more will be available I believe. I'm going to make another one using point to point wiring, No PCB! Will be fun for me.

hilldweller,

Finally, I have free time to play around. I am thinking to use the prototype PCB for point to point to make easy and look nice which it can hold all the tubes and PS on the board. Do you think it's a good idea? Between 12AX7 and 6SL7, which one would you choose? Beside the part list in the document, do you use higher grade? I am planning KT150 but I would test with KT120 first since I have a set of them. How much do you see the different between KT150 and KT120? What about the coupling caps? I have researched on some Russian K40 PIO, Mundorf Supreme Silver / Oil, Cornell Dubilier 942C, and few other brands but don't know if it make any different. Cost is not important, quality is what i am looking for.

If you have your own part list to share, it would be great.

I use "AudioCaps" from Parts Express AudioCaps is the brand.
If you are going to use KT150 you will need a 8 or 10 amp filament supply. Make sure your transformers are up for the task.
I prefer the larger octal tubes for the dirvers 6SN7 or 6SL7
You will need to double up on H.V. supply diodes as well, Two in series for each leg.
Use 1% Dale/Vishay resistors

With that board, the input tubes will be too close to the output tubes, risky. The further away the input and output tubes the better, unless you like hum.

Thanks for the info
Maybe turn the pcb sideway to get more spacing?

I will go with KT120 thought since I have a spare set and go with 1% Dale/Vishay resistors since I have seen a lot people using this brand.

Not sure about the Diodes. Do you mean 8 diodes total instead of 4? and run in series? I thought I saw one of your post about using 3A diodes, do you have the part #

Two 3 amp, 1000v diodes connected in series on each leg. you will need four diodes. these are generic. you don't need a part number. just the specs.

Got it. I can follow the schematic. Will get transformer, output, and choke at Edcor.

I have read most of your posts, very helpful. Need to get everything on the list first. This may take me a while to complete. I will come back to ask more questions later if I am stuck ..lol...

hilldweller,

C3 and C4 coupling caps are 0.1uF. Can it increase to .22uf, .33uF, .47uf, and 1kuF? Would it increase more bass?

I use these and you don't need to worry about bass, there is plenty with the KT-120
