Chubby Clementine KT-88 James / Antek

Postby TomMcNally » Tue May 10, 2016 7:46 am

I built this last night, using an Antek AS-1T300 power transformer, Hammond 156R choke, and James 6112HS outputs.
The KT-88's are from EH, generic Russian 6SL7. Hundreds more amp pics at http://tmamps.com

Another great looking amp!

You think the James opt's are worth the extra money? I've not heard any, that I recall at least.

I've never done an A/B comparison of James vs others, but they seem to have nice smoothness across the audio spectrum. The convenience of multiple impedances, good looks, and quick delivery make them appealing.

Thanks for the input Tom. I certainly like the look, different than the normal transformer look, clean and simple.
