Finished my build! Yeah!...thanks to everyone.
This build started as a "Pilot" amplifier cage gotten from that famous auction place, with the help from a friend I bent up a new chassis to fit, punched it then had it electro coated in a dull nickel. I used Trancendar Output transformers and a 5H Trancendar choke, initially I was going to use an Antek Toroidal transformer but ran into trouble ( see my previous tribulations in preceding threads) but ended up using the Dynaco.. I tubed it up with a pair of NIB, NOS Tungsol 6550's and a Tungsol 6SU7GTY. It sounds great! I'll post some inside shots as soon as I can stop listening. Thanks Shannon and Tom!

A shot with out the cage, the layout is a little askew due to the transformer issues, but if and when Antek begins stocking the appropriate Transformer I could switch out the Dynaco...or I've still got room on top for an additional 5H Trancendar choke.

then had it electro coated in a dull nickel

Looks great, nice finish. Was it electro plated or powder coated paint? What was the story on that process?

Yes it's "Electro-Plated"...it's less expensive than powder coating, It was about $80 for the two pieces, that included bead blasting ( The top and bottom was modeled after a Dynaco -70 in construction)...The guy did it for me as a rush job the day before Christmas, I didn't really have time to ask a lot of questions but took a quick spin through the facility, he showed me a few samples and I went with the dull Nickel, ...a caveat though it really shows finger prints..First I tried using "Never Dull' to remove them, that kinda gunked things up, then tried removing that with acetone, finally I used denatured Alcohol and now the prints don't show.

Thanks, Yes Old School was the objective..I left the cage the way I received it with the "funky" gold paint from who knows when..I thought of repainting it but it grew on me.
Cheers!

Back from the Electro-Plater, note the finger prints.
