its sounds wonderful but...

Well recently I have finished my clementine (pictures pending) and it sounds very well.

Now I wan to try with tube rectifier (5Ar$ 5Z4p 5U4) for experimentation but my iron XPWR68-240 has only 6,3V and 200-0-200 V output.

The question is: Could I use this 6,3V with a serie resistor in the heater that drops the excess 1,3 V and obtain 5V in the rectifier?

Any ideas are welcome.

Buy a 5 volt transformer , you need a separate winding for the rectifier for any of those rectifier tubes , try a 6BY5 if you have a separate 6 volt winding they are cheep tube , if you have the extra filament current use a 6ca4 .

6.3V and indirectly heated. I use it in the get*set*go, which is very similar to the Clementine.

This would connect the full B+ voltage on the filaments, and that would definitely cause very serious problems.
