Hi,

What is the recommended tube socket for the Clementine?

I just use the generic, ceramic PCB Octal socket that can be purchased anywhere.

Thanks for that, Shannon. I just purchased the red pcb (yours?) and want to get this project on the road. (eat) I want music I can taste.

I build paper mache horns, so with their 110db 1w1m efficiency, I think they would be a natural for this amplifier. You can see them at www dot inlowsound dot com.

Your paper horns are pretty darn cool! Tubes are a perfect match, naturally.
I'll have the Clementine shipped in the morning.

Thanks for the compliment, Shannon. I get a lot of happy listeners at my home. I'm hoping the Clementine will be a terrific addition to my system.

I'm curious, is it possible to convert the Clementine into a balanced amp? It'd make a natural mono-block. I'm not certain how to configure the output transformers.

I ask because my entire system is balanced (other than the actual sources).

It's probably not a practical mod with this design, but fortunately hum & noise are pretty low (for a SE amp!) in the Clementine amp.
