new 1626... Hammond 263ex (Nexttime ill save the $25 and use the 269ex and wire for the 125v primary. and uses Transcendar 5watt iron.
Sounds like a 3 watt amp and seems to have much more bass... prob the transformer diff.

I recently built up a 1626 Clemmy with the 269EXand the 5 watt Transcendar OPTs, it sounds amazingly good, those smaller-sized Transcendars
are the perfect match for this particular amp design. I built mine onto and into a Hammond black powder-coated steel 10X6X2 chassis. I had
to get "creative" with the C354 choke mounting, with this size chassis, I ended up mounting it inside the chassis, under the power trannie.

Very nice, lots of room under the chassis, my little 10X6X2 chassis, was like trying to pack ten pounds of (you know what) into a five pound bag ;) (lol)

I like theclean "uncluttered" top, looks very nice! [:) (love) [:) (love) [:)

Hi all. First time response!
I've been using the Transcendar for a while now and LOVE the 5K/5 watt OPT in the Darling amplifiers. Iv'e also used the 3K/10watt OPT with the DC Double Darling amplifiers. They make great transformers and cost a little less than other brands with better specs as well. I really like the look of your amp without all the 'stuff on it.
