I just completed the 1626 clementine, plugged it in - both 1626 lighted up but 6sl7 tube is not lid up - no smoke... Can someone please tell me what could be wrong. Thanks.

For the 1626 Darling, you should be using a 12SL7, not a 6SL7. That could explain the problem.

Ah, that's probably why. I dont have any 12sl7. Can i use 12SN7 instead.... Will have to order some 12sl7. Thanks

Nope - 12SN7 don't lid up neither. Will put in some bid at fleabay for the 12SL7. Argghh...

Hey--from your picture, it looks like you have the center tube socket rotated 180 degrees from where it should be. The center tube guide pin/slot should face forward, and the 1626 pins/slots should face rearward. As you have it, the center tube (12SL7) contacts will be wrong. Have a look.

That was it George. I rotate the middle tube and now it is playing nice music - even with not so optimum 12SN7. Love it!!! thanks

I did the same thing with a Clementine last week! Took me a
minute to figure it out. Fortunately, the holes in the board are
big enough to do a quick flip.

Yes sir. Thank you Tom McNally for your recommendation to the Clementine and thank you Shannon for making this happen... This is my first built tube amp for me and it was really easy and simple in my opinion. I did not even have to do any measurement, etc... and it worked the first time (other than having to turn the driver tube around 180 degree, LOL)

Now on a separate topic, can we have board for a single ended 45 tube amp. I have listened to a few amps with various output tubes and the 45 has always been the favorite for me.
