Here's my just-completed Clementine Darling. The outputs are Edcor GXSE 10-8-5K, the power transformer a Hammond 369EX. Most of the parts are re-purposed from a PTP-wired Darling I built that I could never get all the hum out of (yes, I know these things are supposed to be quiet-I missed something and gave up). I decided to go with purple-dyed veneer for the base...not to everyone's liking, I'm sure, but I like it, and it looks good next to the cherry veneered phono preamp I built a while back; the one from the RCA Receiving Tube Manual, which is supposed to be hummmmy, but mine is dead quiet--go figure.
One small item -- there was some hum in the Clem until I ran a wire from the board ground lug to the chassis ground, then it was nice and quiet.
Anyway the Clem sounds wonderful and all is well in the world. Thanks to Shannon for doing this, and to Tom McNally for his advice and wisdom on these puppies.
