I've split open mouse cords and used them as tonearm wires, also the cheap ear buds that come with phones.

I agree with Gregg - this is brilliant!

OK - fooled with the Sorbothane feet with my shop turntable. Just propping them under my SL-1200 MKII feet in the shop damped the door slamming when the wifey comes in to visit. So I ordered four 2" 50D sorbothane feet - $25 shipped from eBay. Holy cow - this turntable is decoupled to another dimension. Best $25 accessory ever.

Commercial vinyl floor tile make an excellent dampening material. Easy to cut, easy to glue, not messy, and very inexpensive. With a little heat and a utility knife virtually any size shape can be cut. Glue in with some 5 minute epoxy and viola!
