Anybody here owns a Rega? How do you like 'em? I see there are several Planar models. I am looking at the P3. I like how simple it looks with no frills. Thanks!

I have the Rega Planar 2 with the stock Lustre branded RB250 or is it 200? Anyway, it is a fine turntable. Love the glass platter. I am looking to sell my Planar 2 and pick up the 3 with the RB300 arm. I like the weight and shape of the arm a lot. If I had a crapload more money to drop, I'd probably get a VPI Scout or Scoutmaster.

I have had a couple of 2's and currently have a 3. The 3 is a great table with lots of arm options.

The early 2's came with the R200 arm and the later models came with the RB250. The R200's had a problem with the anti skate breaking. I really liked the RB250, very easy to set up.

I currently have a Mayware formula IV on my Planer 3 and its a pain to set up I wish I still had the RB300.

Unless someone drops a Micro Seiki on my door step I will stick with Regas.

I have a Planar 3. It is currently running an R200 arm with a Denon DL-110, but it has had an RB300 on it in the past (I stole that arm and put it on my Nottingham Analogue Interspace with the intention of getting a DL-102 mono cartridge). If you get an older Planar 3 / P3, make sure it has the motor upgrade. The glass platter is a bit 'ringy' but not too bad. It is one of the better budget turntables out there.

There is a lot you can do with the RB250 / RB300 arm (a better bang for the buck than the P3, IMHO) to make it a great little performer. One thing to make sure of - avoid the Rega carts - they suck. A Denon DL-103R is a great match for the RB250/RB300.

I have a Rega P2 with 250 arm and a Denon DL-103 cartridge. I like the sound of the Rega but in my system the glass platter is a bit bright. I have a modified ST-70 and Klipsch RF-7's. I considered upgrading the Rega, but think I'll switch to a VPI Scout for the same money as the Rega mods.

BUT ... all this being said, I think Rega make s a GREAT out-of-the-box starter table ... AFTER you ditch their junk MM cartridges! I had a hard time with tracking force. Stock was too light and every record sounded dirty. If I went any higher, the sound distorted. NOT a fan of Rega cartridges!

BTW, Rega tables have a unique sound that sets them apart from others. The secret ... they run a tad faster than 33-1/3.

Are there any particular models of Micro Seiki that are expensive? Ones that I can find are pretty cheap.
