My 13 year old niece only likes 70's and 80's rock.
Led Zep, Rolling Stones, early Elton John, etc.
She wanted a turntable for Christmas, and albums.
My sister grabbed a mint 80's Technics system at
a tag sale, since she wasn't sure the fascination would
last. I brought a stack of about 50 LP's, and my
brother and my sister's boyfriend brought some too.

It was pretty amazing to see all of these kids and
younger people listening to albums, when most of them
had never even seen a record playing before.

She loves it - so maybe I'll be building her a tube
system !

So cool.

Did she get any Talking Heads? I have thousands of lps, lots of which are doubles and triples (because I'm a dollar record fiend) As I go through them I'll set some freebies aside if you think she'd be interested.

I don't think so .... I raided the record library at one of
the transmitter sites I take care of, and grabbed what
was left that looked interesting. Most of them have been
played 100's of times, so they are probably scratchy.
That would be great if you can get a stack together,
I'll cover the shipping and the $ 1's ... :) Thanks !

Time to connect my SL-1200 up and play the old
Cat Stevens LP's I found in the pile. I haven't
listened to them since they were new.

Alas - the LP and the girl who owned it are long gone,
but I kept a broadcast tape cartridge with "Night Moves"
on it ... I'll have to play it sometime just to hear that
nice surface noise and "skritch" I heard so many times.
