Hi guys, a friend has picked up a pair of wharfedale w15/fs cones including the 2/3 way crossovers, I was wondering if anyone has, or can direct me to a cabinet design for these speakers as a 3 way.

Thanks

See this:

The "omni-directional 3 speaker system" uses this driver. Google "wharfedale omnidirectional 3 speaker system cabinet design" and you'll see one similar, though smaller, sold on Ebay. The PDF catalogue that comes up on the search is from Troels Graveson's site. This has descriptions and pics of G.A.Briggs' designs. Between them you could probably work out how to build a cab. Troel also has Open Baffle designs (from Briggs) for 12" Drivers.

Hope this helps
J

Just a thought.
Troels might be able to get more details on the cabs, driver specs etc.. from his contact with the retired Wharfedale technician. Also plenty of Open Baffle designs using Eminence Alpha 15. which might give you some ideas. E.g: http://taooftubes.blogspot.co.uk/2011/0 ... eaker.html

The mk1 Teesdale cabinet uses the 15" driver a sealed bass section with an open baffle mid and top. The really unusual bit is the aluminium half cone reflectors.

I have a pair I got given free from a local recycle scheme. They are pretty ugly looking like a washing basket but sound really good.

Or these Airdales ....
