Speaker List

I just thought I'd list a few of my favorite commercial speakers. These won't break the bank.
For the Budgie SE:
o HSU H-1B
o Hornshoppe Horns
For the ST-35:
o Ascend Acoustics CBM-170
o Klipsch Fortes - should rebuild the xovers. Original is chintzy.
o Cambridge Audio Sirocco S30 - With Mapleshade mods - fabulous
o Clements 300si - hard to find - only bookshelf model - mid '90s - present - transmission - rave reviews
For the St-70:
o Zaph Audio SR-71 - Available from Madisound - needs impedance smoothing mod
Others:
o Ascend Acoustic Sierra - 1 --- hard to drive for tubes
o Fostex kit http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/2-way-speaker-kits/fostex-p1000e-diy-kanspea-4-full-range-speaker-kit-pair/
- good for experimenting with low wattage, SE amps
o DIY Fostex - http://diyaudioprojects.com/Speakers/Fostex-FX120-Bass-Reflex/ - should use impedance eq for tubes http://diyaudioprojects.com/Technical/Speaker-Zobel/
o Interesting kits with Hiquophon tweeters - http://www.zalytron.com
o Ellis Audio - Hiquophon http://www.ellisaudio.com/
Currently, I use: HSU H-1b, Madisound Odins, GR-Research OBM-5 - too expensive.
I'm just putting these out there. I have owned auditioned all of the above. Of course, the members of this forum have built great DIY projects
