HI Everyone,
Here is a long awaited Drawing for a Type of Fostex H400 wooden horn. There are No dimensions anywhere,
and these sell for $600.00 on Madisound each!. If you follow this Drawing, you will have a really close! I mean really
close Rendition of those wooden horns, you can make yourself some from about $35.00 ea.( birch ply ), to about $200.00 ea. with the most Expensive Exotic hardwoods, Each including finishing supplies. Why pay $600 for one. I have taken the overall dimensions as Fostex describes as being length, width, and height, and with TurboCAD I WAS ABLE TO DO IT! YES HERE IT IS! ENJOY! Pianolydia P.s. This Drawing can be plotted out 1:1 on a Cad Plotter or Printer AT Office Depot! and the Drawing Border is ARCH D 24" X 36" At least NOW! we have a dimensioned Drawing to go by! Oh!, I heard these horns on top of a Karlson K12 and I tell you the Jazz Trio was in the living room!

You are showing the radius moving in 1/2" increments.

Wouldn't that give a linear taper rather than a curved mouth?

I think the steps would become smaller as you near the outlet of the horn.

Yes,
My Bad, I just drawn this this morning, and WOW! This really is a difficult piece, I have really gone into
more detail, But the main Idea is there at least! Having a guide template and sanding and sanding creating that arc
is going to be the hardest part certainly the most work!, But thanks for pointing that out, your right about that
Hotsauce! (lol) ;) Pianolydia P.s. I saw pictures of the real H400's and they are Beautiful!!!

Really nice plans, I CNC cut a pair of these, turned out good for my prototypes using budget plywood, once I get the kinks out, I will try with Baltic birch.

Only takes a few hours to build, once cut.

Dave, have you selected a driver(s) to use? And I suppose this could be modified to eliminate/incorporate some kind of adapter into the machining process?

I have not selected a driver, I am not sure I will ever use these, however I will build an adapter when I have some spare time.

This horn has a cutoff of 455 hz, so a 600hz crossover or higher are in order. JBL 2426H would work nicely, or a B&C DE-250 crossed around 1k would work nicely as well.

My own horns are 2 inch 300Hz fc pure Tractrix.
