i forget the plywood grading system, but there is a place called Menards in this region, and i have gotten(gotten? hmm) nice birch plywood for a baffleboard there...few or no voids, no detectable knots, really smooth on both sides, with birch on one face. best part is they sell it in 2x2 and 4x4' chunks
looks fun

So, are you going to build a pair too? I'd be keen to see what others think of them... of course, I haven't heard my own set yet.
"It's a different experience; the noise occlusion, crisp, clear sound, and defined powerful bass. Strong bass does not corrupt the higher frequencies, giving a very different overall feel of the sound, one that is, in my opinion, quite unique."

...waiting for you man, you're the guinea pig!
have to admit, i'm skeptical. but, if they can match/exceed say, the a25, i'm in. the price is right, and winter, long.

Nice job TY.

Here is a design I used this driver for if you would like to try it with a differant approach down the road.

I built this as a test to see what OB was about a year ago and like them so much I am still using them.

Ty -
Interesting stuff. I have a pair of the tecktons off of ebay that I bought a couple of years ago. I really like them - you are more than welcome to swing by and pick them up if you like to compare them to your new horns.
The OB speakers have always interested me. Never saw that design before - I've been looking at OB's with P-Audio drivers...

that OB design is more my style...nice and easy. really hard to imagine they could deliver any bass punch though

I've always wanted to try out an OB design, just because of its simplicity,
no fancy formulas, folded horns, complicated woodworking required.
I've got a couple of 8 inch coaxial FRs looking for some gainful employment, and I don't feel like making a major woodworking project out of it...

I can just imagine what's going through that black cat's mind:

"oh, boy! a brand new scratching post, just for me!" ;-)
