F.U.N. Kits from Hemp Acoustics

Interesting. Any dealers have these?

I did receive a reply from Hemp Acoustics just recently. It was mentioned that their speakers have cast frames instead stamped and that they are assembled in North America. I might try a pair out sometime. The marijuana leaves on the website are almost too much, though. Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_09

I've heard some of Hemp's stuff... that 4.5" FR is absolutely spectacular. Kick anything out there in the pricerange.

The 6 and 8 shouldn't exist outside a guitar cab, IMO Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_08

They're a Canadian company - them leaves are a badge of honor, eh? Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_01

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.

Some care in where you go and what you buy might be in order! I know nothing other than what the posts say!

It's to bad if a good sounding design does have issues unrelated to its actual performance!!

Oh well, ordering from a distributor seems safe enough:

Unfortunately, no 4.5" is available and the 6.5" is $25 more than the MSRP Perry mentioned in his email. So I guess I'll stick to Fostex for now.

They look legitimate enough, but I'd still make double-sure that the speakers are in stock and available for immediate shipment, and not simply "backordered" until Percy Pecker-head gets "released" once again... Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_21

I ordered 2 pairs of the previous version of the FR-8 (before the matrix cone) from e-speakers.com about 18 months ago. I think this is the same 8" fullrange that is currently sold by A Brown Soun here:

http://www.hemptonespeakers.com/

At the time they were out of stock, but were having a 20% off moving sale so I ordered anyway. It took them about 4 months to get them restocked, and the price had gone up during that time, but they honored the original lower price and the 20% discount. They did not charge my credit card until the order shipped.
