Ah yes, I see. Well, they're still very nice looking speakers.

commonsenseaudio.com Nirvana Super 8's..... 1.3 cabinets

This is a smaller cabinet, sounds clean, beautiful mids, but not a lot of bass. They have many other enclosure designs to choose from when you buy their drivers. I wish I could afford some 12's. I bet they sound nice.

These need a little bass. I will supplement.

After a long hiatus, i finally got to order some Audio Nirvana 8" cast Supers. We'll see how they improve the fidelity of my speakers.

The cabinets have held up well, however.

Here's some baltic birch front-loaded horns I have in the works. You can also see a 3-way EV Aristocrat that I built a few years ago out of baltic birch, solid wenge, and wenge veneer.

Here's my newly finished hONKEN (fONKEN with HiVi drivers).
Sounds pretty good but maybe a bit distracted and limited but as PC-speakers they are perfect.

Awesome, Magnus! :-)

Gonna oil them up, or stain?

Cheers!

Audio Nirvanna in Modified DIY Decware cabinet

Cast Frame 8-inch Audio Nirvanna drivers in Modified DIY Decware Cabinet. Cabinet originally done by local cabinet maker and re-sized for 6 inch decware Fostex. Fostex motors and passive radiators were damaged during building. I re-buit passives and replaced Fostex drivers with AN's. Driving with 5-watt SET spud on loan from Kegger from that other site. Combined with Velodyne SPL 1000 they sound very good with NO equalization and no evidence of harshness or shout. Happy accidents do happen. Still need some clean-up work.

Looking good!

Did Dave see how you finished them, or did they come that way?

He did see them, I threw up a few photos in the DIYAudio Planet10 section. It was actually pretty tricky dying such a large surface area with water-based stain, you have to dry it off quickly before it streaks. Since it was my first time using it, I probably didn't do the greatest job, but I like the way it came out.

Yeah, water based stains on that large a thing (and really thirsty Baltic birch), I'd bring out the sprayer for ;)

Again, super job!

Cheers!
