I ended up using silver solder on the board, all silver in Teflon wiring (except for the power transformer's own wires), Jantzen silver Z-caps, Transcendar output transformers with silver wiring, etc.

Hats off to you Shannon, what a smashing performer this is! Bass is truly thunderous! it is silky in tone, has lots of gain, whisper quiet when idle, and much air and separation for instruments. This is certainly at the top of the heap of performers. Has played for 12 hours, not a glitch.

I am also surprised at how good these Transcendar outputs are.

Thanks for all the help.

Catching up from the Thanksgiving holiday - glad you sorted out the Schottky diode situation! Are all your operating voltages looking correct? Looks like a beauty. (y)

I think the voltages are correct, it is working very well. Here is what I measured, it is obviously higher than the tube rectified unit:

All DC Volts

V1
2-183
3-2.12
5-183.6
6-2.12

V2
8-406

300B
PLATES-367
FILAMENTS-5.0

J3, J4
4-62
5-57

J5
1-406
2-399

J7
1,2-387

This amp is a winner.
