pcb mechanical drawing/dimensions?

Postby tmbg » Tue Dec 31, 2013 12:15 pm

Hi, sorry if I've completely overlooked it, but I'm trying to find a dimensioned drawing of the PCB that at least shows the relative positions of the sockets and the mounting holes.

I've got nearly everything I need to put my 2A3 GSG together, and it's about time to start cutting metal :)

Thanks,
Ian

Hi Ian -

I've built a couple of dozen get*set*go amps, and suggest using the board as a template.
Obviously it needs to be unpopulated. Lay it on the chassis and use a marker to put
a dot in all of the holes. Centerpunch, drill, punch tube socket holes and you're done.

Good luck with the amp.

Indeed! I too always wait for all chassis components to arrive and mark the holes from the actual parts, like transformers, PCB's, sockers, etc.

There's always undocumented minor revisions and manufacturing tolerances that can make one pull hair out ;)

Cheers!

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.

Several FPE and DXF files here:

I'm doing the top plate on my DIY CNC plasma cutter :)

I ended up importing one of the dxfs into solidworks and using it to extract dimensions and do my own dxf. I'm about to do a test cut and see where I am.

Also the FPE software will export nice DXFs, which I used a lot recently. I don't think the earlier versions could do that. Let us know how it comes out!

Came out pretty good. The PCB mounting holes aren't exactly right in relation to the sockets, so they don't center perfectly, but I'm splitting hairs at this point :)

Hopefully the postman will bring me my digikey order soon so I can put the rest of it together!
