I did the metalwork and finished this amp up last night.
I had the board on hand, I just swapped the .75 ohm resistors for 1.5 ohms in the filament circuit.
Sounds pretty nice. It's the first time I've tried 300B's in a g*s*g.

It looks great, Tom.
I have been thinking about trying something like this for my next amp.
I have a few other projects to get out of the way first plus dealing with holiday stuff as well...
When I get closer, I may have to pick your brain a bit! ;)

Really nice! So how does it sound compared to the 6B4G?

Prices for the Sovtek 6B4G and 6A3 have really gone up lately so I will probably convert mine to 300B tubes.

I'd say the bass is a little better than the 6B4G ... it's not for me,
someone asked me to build one. It's certainly a simple way to
get into a 300B amp. The power is a little lower than the tube
is capable of, since the voltage is lower. It's a simple thing to
put a couple of diodes on an octal plug and get about 45 volts more.
I may try that.

I'm still waiting for some nice soul to buy me a pair of 300B tubes to test my switchable-GSG. I've been running the 2A3 output tubes recently since I feel they have better bass response than the 6B4G. That and an annoying interference I'm getting on the right channel with the 6B4G selected.
