Alt transformers

I was wondering if you could sub 2 Z565-48 output Transformers instead of Encore or others... I have a set off to the side... Love to make use of them instead of buying others. Any real considerations why not?

Thanx in advance,

Justin

Alt, I have the Power tanny from a MKIII... Would a dynco MKIII (P782) be a better choice... Have some odd parts lying around... just trying to use without buying... ;-)

Those are push pull output transformers.
The GSG needs single ended output transformers.

The Mark III power transformer is no good for this project. The high voltage secondary is WAY too high, and will fry the 6B4G. You also need two 6.3 volt windings, which the P782 lacks.

Try the XPWR005 power transformer from Edcor. I haven't finished mine yet, but I did the receive the power transformer and it appears very nicely built.
"It's a different experience; the noise occlusion, crisp, clear sound, and defined powerful bass. Strong bass does not corrupt the higher frequencies, giving a very different overall feel of the sound, one that is, in my opinion, quite unique."
