Well, I finally finished the pair of GSGs I've been working on. I took some pics in my friend's workshop if you want to check them out.

They sound great! I can't wait to get a little more listening time with mine.

Thanks for the boards Shannon! Also, thanks to everyone that answered my questions.

Bill, very nice build, I really like the look of your GSG. If you have access to a lathe, one can easily polish the Weber Copper Cap Rectifier, it really adds a nice look. I also reinstalled the decal, this IMHO improves the look of the rectifier.

Cordially,

Yes, your new amplifiers are beautiful, Bill. Fine work indeed.

His transformers came from a guy who sold off about a dozen pair on eBay. Alas, I suspect there will be no more. The seller claims they were leftovers from a custom run.

Sweet amps Bill ! I've built four of them, and really
enjoy the sound of the one I kept for myself.

Thanks for the complements!

Ty is correct about the transformers.

I would be glad to share the FPE file with this group, but I don't know how. (I'm not that web savy.... Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_20)

If you send me an email, I can send it to you. It's only 2 kb.

Beautifully done! Another example of how something as stock as an amp w/ the GSG board can look custom with a touch of creativity.

I still don't know how Jian Shin can get away with supplying James stickers on their products. I guess if they all came from the same factory it's upto them to do what they wish. They are both great sounding OPTs.

I would love to see some folks here point-to-point wiring a GSG. It looks super simple to go so.

I used Front Panel Express for the metalwork. The lettering is engraved with a 0.2 mm tool then filled with white ink. Most of the lettering is "Helvetica Light, 1-Stroke".
