300b heater

I am going over th voltages again and the 300b heater is at 8 volts . I installed te corrected resistors for r19 and r20 is 8 volts to high ?? if so would that cause the over driving distortion ? I have 2 new tubes to try but im scared to put them in now . Thanks so much for your help AL

I put the new jj tubes in and the heater voltage went down to 5.2 and it sounds fantastic so it was the tubes not the amp . Thanks for all the help AL !!!!!!!!

Im so stinking happy right now This amp is the shiznet dark side of the moon has never sounded so good !!!! This is the first set amp i have ever heard all my other amps are push pull and all i can say is wow . I am going to start collecting parts to build a point to point 45 amp next . My wife hates this hobby since i am in the basement for hrs Until she hears the results . Thanks again guys for all the help and Shannon keep up the good work also next time you are in peoria look me up and i will buy you a beer ... AL[/i]
