Pre-amps that work well with GSG?

Postby RobertWStephens » Thu Apr 17, 2008 7:40 am

Hello! I LOVE my GSG. The bass is really great. I have tried it with no pre-amp and just a volume control. I now have a heavily modified PAS2 that finally sounds great. I built a Hagerman Clarinet linestage with 12au7's. I did not care for it very much. I was wondering what other users were doing for a pre-amp? What is the holy grail of pre-amps? Peace. Robert

Just about any preamp or linestage will work with the G*S*G.

usually just a small amount of amplification is needed, 6 to 12 dB at most, if the signal source is lower than the usual standard accepted line voltage levels. Excessive gain will cause distortion, but no harm (unless one is trying to emulate a Marshall stack with it) Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_06
