Headphone Jack

Has anyone tried installing a headphone jack on a get*set*go amp? Is it worth doing or is it a waste of time?
Thanks in advance.

Easiest thing to do for a try-out, is get a stereo jack at RS, and a couple of 120 ohm, 1/2 W (100 to 150 ohms is OK) resistors to wire in series with eac channel - this is the "standard" industry value used to drop the signal levels in order to prevent ear drum trauma...

Load the outputs with 8 to 10 ohm, 5W resistors. If you like what you hear, then make it a permanent part of the amp., or just built it all into a small "adapter" box.

I did this for the 13EM7 SET amps, and it works well. I haven't yet permanently installed the headphone components, but probably will do so sometime...

Ed,
So, you would:

secondary taps on OPTs (with 8 ohms loads)---> 120 ohms resistors ---> Stereo jack ---> headphone

Do you have to worry about the impedance of the headphone (and that of OPTs)? Thanks. -Min
