Just waiting on 6B4Gs. Here are some pictures. The VU meters and knobs were pulls from an old Sony tape player. I wouldn't have put those myself. It was my "customer's" request. They look alright I guess. Can't wait to fire this up when the tubes get here...

Looks great!

I agree, the VU meters look a bit funky, but the customer is always right!

Nice job indeed.

Are you going to replace those UX sockets with
the octal equivalents ? I think they have the same
hole spacing.

Tom,
Those are octals. They are the very same Johnson style octals that you gave me a while ago. -Min

Ahhh - yeah I should have looked closer before I asked !

Anyway - the amp looks great. You've gone from a
novice to an Amplifier Artisan in a short time ! :)

Thanks for getting me started, Tom! I am having loads of fun. Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_03 It looks like I always need a hobby or two keep me busy on top everything else. I just got into nitro RC lately, and it's keeping my mechanical side happy. Those things go as fast as real cars! -Min

I finally got the amp going. Apparently all my binding posts were grounded and I was stumped for while as to why I got no sound inspite of having wired correctly. I am learning that troubleshooting is a major chuck of DIY tubing.
The amp sounds real nice. I am surprised to hear so much bass. I guess that's all James iron's doing. It probably is the nicest SET I built yet. I also built a passive preamp that I am enjoying immensely. The guy that I built the amp for is a professional furniture maker and he was going to cook up something special for the amp. I will post some pictures when that's ready. -Min
